All about the Sequoias & SUP in California.

We’ve designed a week-long Californian adventure to experience some of the northern highlights of this powerhouse state. Explore San Francisco. Get lost in a secluded Sequoia grove. Then prepare to a take on the epic Panorama Trail in Yosemite. Finally, kick back on Lake Tahoe, sip a local beer and swing by Napa Valley to try the wine on your way back to San Francisco.  Live Adventure, Give Adventure. Each time you book an adventure with Edits, we’ll contribute £15 to the Inspiration Project. That’s enough money to fund a day trip for a local child. Since 2017, our guides have been taking disadvantaged children to see their country’s famous sights and you’ll help us do this more in 2020.

It’s also well placed to access the best of what San Francisco has to offer. Tonight, you’ll meet your fellow travellers and your tour leader will tell you more about what California has in store for you.

    2. Day 2 Explore the city highlights

After breakfast, you’ll be ticking off the highlights of San Fran with your group. You’ll walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. You’ll visit Lombard Street with its eight hairpin turns. You’ll go via the hub of Union Square on your way to see the sealions at Pier 39. In the afternoon, you’ll wander the hippy neighbourhood of Haight-Ashbury to snap some pictures of the famous murals. After nightfall, perhaps the vibrant bars in the Mission District will tempt you. Or for an excellent slice of pizza, look no further than North Beach.

    3. Day 3 Marvel at the sequoias

Leaving San Francisco behind, you’ll travel to Yosemite National Park today on a scenic drive, stopping en route to walk among the giant sequoia trees – some of the largest living trees in the world. Then you’ll journey onwards to the majestic Yosemite National Park to spend the next two nights at Yosemite View Lodge.

    4. Day 4 Hike the Panorama Trail in Yosemite National Park

Pull on your walking boots. Today you’ll tackle the spectacular Panorama Trail, an 8.5 miles route with panoramic views of Half Dome, Yosemite Valley and some incredible waterfalls. This evening, the spa at the Lodge awaits to soothe weary muscles.

    5. Day 5 Arrive in Lake Tahoe in time for a sunset cruise

After a scenic drive through Yosemite and over the highest highway pass in California, Tioga Pass, you’ll arrive at Lake Tahoe. Beautiful skies, clean air and a cobalt blue lake await. After checking into the supercool Basecamp Tahoe South, you’ll take a sunset dinner cruise.

    6. Day 6 Try out SUP, then sample the local brews

It’s back on the water this morning – this time on a stand-up paddleboard. You’ll have a lesson before heading off on a guided tour to explore the coastline and enjoy the mountainous scenery. After lunch by the water’s edge, you’ll visit a brewery to try a beer made with pure Lake Tahoe water.

    7. Day 7 A wine stop in Napa, before returning to San Francisco

You’ll swap beautiful shorelines for beautiful Winelands today – you’re bound for Napa Valley. You’ll stop for a tasting before continuing to San Francisco where your tour wraps up in the late afternoon.
