Settle into life on the edge of Lake Bohinj
Once you arrive at Ljubljana airport, you’ll take a 50-minute group transfer to your hotel in the heart of Triglav National Park. You’ll stay at the Bohinj Eco Hotel for the next three nights, surrounded by alpine scenery.

Today you’ll get to enjoy the beauty of this area. You’ll start by getting your bearings on a morning hike on Mount Triglav, which overlooks the sparkling blue-green waters of Lake Bohinj. Come the afternoon, you’ll take to those same waters on a paddleboard, propelling yourself across the crystal-clear lake.

You’ll spend half a day cycling the 30 km gravel and asphalt trails that hug Lake Bohinj. The route takes you past the canyons, caves and waterfalls for which Triglav National Park is famous. This evening, you’ll taste unusual chocolate combinations (dark chocolate with mohant cheese, anyone? It’s better than it sounds!) followed by an atmospheric torchlit hike to the lake.
An unforgettable afternoon canyoning
A scenic 35-minute train journey whisks you to the quaint town of Kobarid. Make the most of the downtime, because the adventure will be dialled up in the afternoon with canyoning. You’ll be kitted out in a wetsuit and helmet, and hike upwards through the terrain before sliding down the smooth rock faces and waterfalls, using ropes to clamber down the trickier sections. You’ll stay at a hotel in the Soca Valley for the next three nights, perfectly positioning you in the midst of this natural adventure playground.
Scenic cycling and Slovenian wine tasting
Bike around 50 km (mostly flat or downhill) to Goriska Brda, a wine-producing region close to the Italian border. On the way, visit Kolovrat Outdoor Museum with its First World War trenches and mountain caves. Goriska Brda is known as Little Tuscany thanks to its picture-perfect hills of grapevines, olive groves and cherry orchards. You’ll visit a wine cellar to learn more about Slovenian wines (and of course, taste them for yourself), before taking a transfer back to your hotel.
An epic day of rafting and ziplining
There’s more thrill-seeking on the agenda today, starting with a morning of white water rafting. First things first, you’ll learn how to paddle and manoeuvre down the river, before navigating some thrilling Grade II and III rapids. In between, there’s time to swim. The afternoon has more adventure in store. You’ll tackle one of Europe’s largest, longest and highest zipline parks. Fly down five wires in total, up to 700 metres in length, and reach speeds of 60 kmph. Just try not to squeeze your eyes shut – the views of the Julian Alps, Isonzo River and Bovec Valley are unmissable.
Hike the Kobarid Historical Trail and dine like a king in a castle
Explorations of the Soca Valley continue this morning with a two-hour walk on the Kobarid Historical Trail past the Kozjak Waterfall. In the afternoon you’ll return to Ljubljana and check into the City Hotel. Tonight, a three-course dinner is served at Ljubljana Castle, a medieval fortress. It’s a fitting finale to celebrate your exhilerating adventures in Slovenia’s great outdoors.
Return home with lifelong memories
Depending on the time of your flight, there may be time to explore the leafy centre of Ljubljana. Then it’s time to say your goodbyes and return to the airport.
