Cycling Difficulty

  • Longest day 12-18 miles/20-30 km, mainly flat, gentle cycling for everyone. Typically 2-3 hours cycling every other day. Good choice for first timers, families with children, or moms and dads who haven’t cycled in years. Longer route options available for the energetic.
  • Longest day 15-24 miles/25-40 km: more varied cycling, often flat, but with the occasional hill section. Climbs are either easy, or short get-off-and-push ones. No need to be a regular cyclist or especially fit, but in hot weather, be prepared to start early and take it easy.
  • 24 to 45 miles per day. For people who regularly enjoy cycling at home and enjoy the challenge of mixed terrain.  You should be prepared for some steep climbs and descents.
