It’s a Great Time to Visit Britain!

With the US dollar the strongest it has been vs the pound in 30 years, Britain is a great travel value right now!  You’ll find sensational scenery, quirky local culture, charming inns and incredible food.  The UK is brimming with history, local legends and some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes, not to mention award-winning coastline and first-class cuisine. From castles and cliff walks to museums and art galleries; sweeping beaches and harbor towns to national parks and wildlife reserves, the UK has plenty to offer the discerning traveler.

NEW! Lake District, England

Hot off the press is our 6-night Literary Walking in the Lake District self-guided tour, a chance to experience the incredible scenery, world-famous lakes and renowned literary connections of the stunning South Lakes. You’ll follow idyllic lakeside paths and quiet country lanes, taking in majestic fells and mountains, quaint Cumbrian villages and literary gems like Wordsworth’s Grasmere and Arthur Ransome’s Coniston. Your accommodation includes a charming C17 inn serving fine local ales and a waterside hotel once frequented by Ruskin and Darwin. Add an extra night in Bowness and you’ll stay in an elegant Laura Ashley-designed hotel overlooking Lake Windermere.

  Dorset, England

Rivaling some of Europe’s most scenic coastlines, Dorset’s spectacular Jurassic Coast is England’s first UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site and represents 185 million years of history. A mix of sweeping beaches, rolling hills and the world-famous Durdle Door, it’s an awe-inspiring backdrop for a 5-night walking or cycling tour.

On our Jewels of the Jurassic Coast Walk you’ll follow in smugglers’ footsteps along the magnificent South West Coast Path; enjoy splendid views towards the Isle of Wight as you walk the Purbeck Way; and round off your holiday in style on the exclusive Sandbanks Peninsula.

Opt for two wheels on our Dorset and the Jurassic Coast Cycling holiday and you’ll journey from the classic seaside town of Weymouth towards Sandbanks, taking in iconic Chesil Beach, historic Dorchester and Thomas Hardy’s National Trust home, and the dramatic ruins of Corfe Castle.

Why not choose an electric bike and make light work of those beautiful Dorset hills? Read more on our blog here.

Loch Ness, Scotland

The Highlands around Loch Ness offer some of the UK’s most jaw-dropping scenery, with wild and mysterious landscapes that both intrigue and inspire. Majestic forests, fjord-like lochs and crumbling castles steeped in history are a wonderful basis for a tranquil, away-from-it-all experience.

Our 5-night Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal Walk explores the remote, southern side of Loch Ness, with its misty, heather-clad moors, spectacular gorges and crashing waterfalls. You’ll take in the tranquil Caledonian Canal and Great Glen Way, not to mention a plethora of picturesque lochs and rivers.

On our 4-night Loch Ness and the Highlands Cycling holiday, beautiful shaded forest, sparkling lochs and fragrant fern-clad hills line your route to Fort Augustus, before you re-trace Scottish history at Culloden and C14 Cawdor Castle. Your final night is spent in vibrant Inverness, in the shadow of the city’s castle.
