To the west of the village - officially the sunniest in the area - lie the beautiful Gschnitztal and Obernbergtal valleys extending to the great peaks and glaciers of the Stubai Alps. A third valley, the spectacular Schmirntal, rises to the east into the Zillertal Alps. On this holiday, you'll ski in all three, exploring meadows, woods, quaint villages and working farms. Confident skiers will also have the chance to enjoy high altitude trails at Mariawaldrast (1700m) - here the former medieval monastery is now a welcoming cafe run by the last remaining monk!
