Tropical Trails of Cape Verde

Off the western coast of Africa, there is a group of islands that offer an eclectic mixture of African culture with a European flavour. Cape Verde (the Green or verdant Cape) is an archipelago of some 10 islands, which were settled by the Portuguese and their slaves from the fifteenth century. You will find many of the towns and villages reflect this in their architectural style, but you will also find African culture here that reflects the mainland: fishing, coffee and citrus fruit growing. The different islands offer a magnificent set of landscapes and a great sunny climate throughout the year. It can be warm, with average temperatures ranging between 24C/75F and 29C/84F, and water temperatures ranging between 22C/72F and 27C/80F - but rarely too warm for walking, the heat often being tempered by coastal breezes. The islands vary; some are mountainous, some flat and sandy. You visit three of them as part of the tour. This is an easy going walking and sightseeing tour and to avoid the complications of too many internal flights, we have based it around, Sal, Santo Antao and Sao Vicente with the option of extending your visit to for a more relaxing  stay.
