Winter tours

The winter months are among the best times to enjoy a walking or cycling holiday in the Mediterranean and North Africa. Choose between rambling through lemon groves in southern Spain or pedaling through sun-drenched villages on Mallorca; join a group tour in Morocco or explore independently in Cyprus.

Some of our destinations, such as Tenerife and La Gomera lie on the great migration routes and are a paradise for ornithologists. Others, such as Madeira, are decked with freesias, jacaranda, jasmine, begonias and camellias while Gozo's olives, figs and peaches flourish in the mild temperate climate.

Between October and May is also perfect for exploring South Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. These tropical destinations enjoy all-year-round balmy climates - so are ideal for active outdoor adventure.

Costa Rica, exotic in just about every respect, is famous for its variety of tree frogs, while traveling through South Africa's swaying bush lands, where lion and buffalo still roam free, is a moving and humbling experience.

So, whether you are looking for a quick escape, or a longer holiday, Breakaway Adventures should have something to suit. As we keep our groups small and personal (rarely more than 8 people), places are limited and, as such, early booking is strongly recommended. With this in mind, we hope to hear from you very soon!
