The Imperial Cities

The “real” Morocco: Imperial cities, grand royal palaces, mountain kasbahs, Berber villages
5-star hotels, private swimming pools 6 out of 7 nights
Gentle walking, superb English-speaking guide
Mediaeval medinas, unique troglodyte dwellings, traditional souks
Rolling hills, lush valleys, orange trees and olive groves

This holiday introduces you to the heart of “real” Morocco. It’s a journey of extraordinary variety and beauty, balancing the local charm of traditional Berber mountain villages with the splendour and opulence of some of the country’s finest Imperial cities. It’s a glorious mix too of sightseeing and gentle rambling, with an air-conditioned minibus to get you around, and accompanied at all times by experienced, English-speaking guide, Mohamed and his driver.

You’ll visit Morocco’s ancient Royal Palaces, Roman ruins, stunning Hassan II Muslim mosque. We’ll make sure that you discover the very best of Meknes, Rabat and Fes and, with Mohamed leading the way, you can really get beneath the surface of the bustling souks, atmospheric medinas and kasbahs filled to the brim with local life and colour. You’ll visit off-beat mountain villages too, and enjoy some gentle walking (typically 4-5 hours) in the foothills of the Middle Atlas. Above all, we aim to keep the trip relaxed and flexible. Mohamed will tailor the days to meet the needs of the group, and to allow for any seasonal changes in weather.

You stay at carefully-picked ***** star hotels throughout. All offer high comfort levels, outdoor swimming (except in Casablanca) and a choice of restaurants for dinner.
