Enchanted Isle of Capri

Day 1: Arrive in Naples
We meet you at Naples airport and take you to the port for the hydrofoil to Capri. You will then be met by the hotel's minibus and taken to the hotel.

Day 2: Two Bays Walk 4km/3hr
A stone stairway crosses the narrowest part of the island between Marina Piccola and Marina Grande, revealing stunning views across vine terraced Monte Solaro. Then through Capri town's maze of alleyways. You'll pass under stone archways and peep into secret courtyards to encounter silversmiths and herb sellers in the shadows before joining the vibrant cafe society in Capri's main square, La Piazzetta. Then down through lemon trees to Marina Grande for a coffee on the sea front.

Day 3: Classic Capri 10km/4hr 
From Capri town. a paved lane winds east past orange trees to Villa Jovis, Emperor Tiberius' palace, overlooking the Soffentine peninsula. After soaking up the Roman decadence, detour to 19C Villa Fersen. Baron Fersen modeled himself on his Roman neighbor in terms of excess! Then to the Arco Naturale before descending to Matermania Grotta (more Roman orgies). You return through on a panoramic path past the Faragliotti.

Day 4: Gardens and Vistas 8km/4hr 
From Cerfoso di San Giacomo, a 14C monastery with a panorama stupendo over the faraglioni, you walk along lanes bright with oleander to the Gardens of Augustus. Spot the statue of Lenin, another famous visitor, before reaching the Belvedere Cannone. The ruined watchtower crowning the view point was once an key part of Capri's defenses against the Moors. 

Day 5: Monte Solaro 12km/5hr 
An even mule track climbs gently from Anacapri through oak trees to meadows bright with purple scabious where goats graze peacefully. Through chestnut forest to the summit and a cool drink on the cafe terrace contemplating sweeping views over the Bay of Naples. Then back through the verdant valley of Cetrelia to visit the 14C Dominican church of Santa Maria.

Day 6: The Grotta Azzurra 15km/5.5hr 
Climbing the Phoenician staircase (old merchants route from Manna Grande) you pass the whitewashed chapel of San Antonio, and Axel Munthe's Villa. Through Anacapri's honeycomb of alleyways, and out past citrus groves to Villa Damecuta (another of Tiberius' villas). An easy path lined with pink cyclamen descends to the Grotta Azzura where fishermen wait to row you inside.

Day 7: Sorrentine Peninsula 16km/4.5hr
A ferry to Sorrento for the Grand Tourist's View of this vertical town in the rock. By bus to Massa Lubrense then along a panoramic path through olive groves overlooking the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi Coast before descending through orchards and gardens bright with bougainvillaea to the Madonna dell'Addolorata church with its' 14 stations of the cross and along to Sorrento's lively waterfront where you board your return ferry to Capri.

Day 8: Return home
We take you to the ferry port for Naples. From there you are transferred to the airport for your return flight.
