Heart of Mallorca Cycling

Day 1: Arrive in Campanet
We meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel (45 mins), a fabulously converted olive mill set in the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains.  It has three pools - indoor and outdoor - saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzi as well as panoramic terrace with glorious valley views.

Day 2: Campanet to Ruberts  (35km/19mi)
Almond blossom, sleepy golden villages and stunning Tramuntana mountain views (without the hills!) bring you coasting into Mallorca's winelands through the 18C centre of Benissalem - home to many local bodegas.  You can enjoy wine tasting on Magdalena Nadal's vineyards, before freewheeling through the vines to your converted bodega in the tiny hamlet of Ruberts.  Time for a swim before dinner.

Day 3:  Free Day
On an optional route, butter yellow wheat fields contrast with cornflower blue skies as you sail along easy back roads to the pretty hillltop village of Montuiri.  The giant Gothic church of Sant Bartolomeu dominates the village, and there are several good bars and cafes where you can join the locals for lunch.

Day 4:  Ruberts to Pollenca (33km/20mi)
Hoopoes flit overhead as the tall spire of Sineu's central church comes into view above blossoming almond trees.  Skirting the town, why not pop in for a drink in a roadside windmill - now a great bar - before a shady track through orchards offers possible picnic spots.  After lunch, coast across the plain directly to Pollenca or via Alcudia, stopping off for a swim on its gorgeous beach - then on to Pollenca.

Day 5:  Free Day
Perhaps cycle to the coast for lunch today, and enjoy a swim in the clear seas of Cala San Vicenc.  From here you can explore walking trails and spectacular views of coastal cliffs.  If you stay in town, relax by the pool at the hotel, explore the "calvari" steps to a hilltop shrine, or ascend to the rambling 18C monastery atop Puig de Maria - Mary's Hill - with fabulous ocean views.

Day 6:  Pollenca to Campanet (23km/13mi)
From the tangled streets of Pollenca, you head out amongst citrus orchards to the lowlands of the Bay of Pollenca.  Winding lanes lined with hyacinth and violets lead back to the lower valleys of the Tramuntana once again, as you coast back through olive groves and terraces for a swim at the hotel, before a final dinner with a view of the moonlit valley below.

Day 7:  Leave Mallorca
We take you from your hotel to the airport for flights home.

Room upgrade: Monnaber Nou, Campanet Suite $28 pppn,  Prices from $28 per person, per night, based on 2 sharing.
