Contrasts of Catalunya Cycling

*  Gentle and varied off-road cycling, interest-packed routes: coastal paths, riverside trails, poppy fields and sunflowers

*  Stunningly beautiful sun-coloured villages untouched by tourism

*  Hotels full of Catalan character – all with pools –including C14 luxury castle

*  Superb regional cuisine, excellent value local wines

*  Full of historic, cultural and natural interest

*  Extra nights either in Barcelona or by the sea in Calella de Palafrugell

This holiday is full of contrasts and variety, and explores one of  the most beautiful corners of Catalunya, following an oval loop.  It’s gentle cycling too, often off-road, through olive groves, peach orchards, paddy fields and along pretty coastal paths. The landscape is gently rolling for the most part, and the changing seasons bring blossom-white in spring, sunflower-yellow in high summer and warm gold at harvest time. This area of Catalunya is rich in mediaeval villages and your route takes you through some of the finest. Highlights include sun-drenched Pals, prosperous Peratallada and Castell d’Emporda, perched proudly on its outcrop affording spectacular views over the entire plain.

You stay in a variety of hotels, all with pools, which have been specially chosen for their charm and character. They range from a friendly farmhouse in Baseia to a magnificently restored C14 castle just outside La Bisbal. And, for people wanting time by the sea, we’ve built in 4 nights on the coast too.
