Brittany
- White sandy beaches, hardly touched by tourism
- Traditional little fishing ports, unchanged over the years
- Picturesque artists' towns, traditional fishing ports, ancient Celtic traditions
- Excellent bird spotting; reed buzzards, lapwing, tufted duck
Visitors to Brittany have long since been seduced by its wonderful scenery, fantastic food and majestic coastline. We’re delighted to be offering you two very distinct areas with options for either a walking tour or a bike tour in Brittany: the glorious Emerald Coast in the north, and picturesque Finistère, tucked away in the south-western corner, in a region tourists rarely visit.
The Emerald Coast
Some of the most dramatic scenery in Brittany can be found along this northern coast. The vividly contrasting landscapes – pink cliffs, red rocks and jagged granite peaks – have made it an artists’ haven over the years yet, despite its popularity, you can still get away from it all and find your own hidden delights.
Finistère
This delightful part of Brittany is also known as “Cornouille”, or Cornwall, and is the ancient heart of the region. Indeed with its winding, quiet country lanes, long, deserted sandy beaches and little thatched cottages, this could be the England many of us often dream about – and with the added attraction of the best of France thrown in! Furthermore, the mild summer climate here makes it a perfect choice for a walking or cycling holiday.
